Transfer from the airport

Most participants will arrive at the Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport. The simplest means of transportation to any place in Budapest is via the Airport Minibus service. This door-to-door Airport Minibus Service is reasonably priced (one way ticket: HUF 2990). The minibus service is located outside of customs area transfer can be booked there.

Travellers will purchase a voucher and proceed to the waiting area for your van to arrive. The wait is generally 10-20 minutes. Those who schedule round-trip transportation must call to re-confirm their return trip at least 24 hours in advance of their flight.

A bit more expensive but prompt transfer service is provided by Főtaxi the official taxi service of Ferihegy airport. The price of a one way transfer is between HUF 3300 / 13 EUR and HUF 5700 / 24 EUR depending on the distance. The booth of Főtaxi is in front of the arrival terminal, outside of the building. Other taxi companies are also available at the airport but they tend to charge more for foreigners. Főtaxi works with fixed prices.More information can be found on the airport's website.

You may take Bus 93 from Ferihegy Terminal 1, or Bus 200 from Ferihegy Terminal 1 and 2 to Kőbánya-Kispest (terminal of these buses).From Kőbánya-Kispest the Metro Line 3 (blue) takes you to the Lehel tér (square). If you come from the centre, go out in the rear of the subway. There is the beginning of the Victor Hugo street, and the building is on the third corner.

Transfer from railway stations

 

  • From Keleti pu. (Eastern Railway Station):
  • Take Trolley bus 76 from "Baross tér" (Keleti pu.) to "Hegedűs Gyula utca". SZTAKI building is right opposite to the bus stop.

     

  • From Nyugati pu. (Western Railway Station):
  • Take Metro Line 3 (blue) from Nyugati pu. to Lehel tér (1 stop to "Újpest központ" direction). Go out in the rear of the subway. There is the beginning of Victor Hugo street, and the building is at the third corner.

     

  • From Déli pu. (Southern Railway Station):
  • Take Metro Line 2 (red) from Déli pu. to "Deák Ferenc tér". Change to Metro Line 3 (blue) to Lehel tér (3 stops to "Újpest központ" direction). Exit in the rear of the subway. You will find yourself on the corner of Victor Hugo and Váci street. Take Victor Hugo street and go straight ahead. The SZTAKI building is at the third corner.

    About public transportation and ticket fees

    Tickets are available at Metro stations, news-stands and major bus/tram terminals and must be validated inside the vehicles or at the entrance of the Metro stations. Please keep your ticket with you until the end of your journey as conductors may check them at the exit gates.
