Successful event at Budapest

13 February, 2012 - 10:12

The Workshops on e-Science Workflows event started with a great interest in Budapest. Besides the weather was not doing its best, we had over 20 registrations showed up on Thursday early afternoon. The workshop had two half-days, the first was organised by the SHIWA project to introduce the technology SHIWA has developed so far to help the collaboration of different workflow communities. The second half-day was organised by EGI.

People came from many different countries, the furthest way someone took for the workshop was from the USA, but there were people from Turkey and Finland as well. Great conversations were sparked off after the presentations with many questions and hopefully some good collaborations were started in Budapest.

Very successful Dutch workflow user community event

22 December, 2011 - 09:57

A very successful workflow user community was hold for the Dutch communities in Amsterdam on last Friday.

About 15 people registered and even more attended the event that was dedicated to the Dutch workflow user communities to highlight the services the SHIWA project can offer for them.

Attendees were introduced to the aims of the SHIWA project and the advantages of workflow publishing and sharing. The SHIWA project members gave a demonstration of the SHIWA Simulation Platform's usage and an overview of the IWIR languages used for a fine-grained interoperability solution.

At the end of the event, during the discussion period, the user communities could address their questions directly to the project representatives.

The new SHIWA Repository is now publicly available

16 December, 2011 - 12:17

We are happy to announce that the new SHIWA Repository is now publicly available at http://repo.shiwa-workflow.eu. All data (including workflows, implementations, users, etc.) of the previous repository were moved to the new repository. Users connecting to the previous repository at http://dev17-portal.cpc.wmin.ac.uk:8080/shiwa-repo are automatically redirected to the new repository.   The most important improvement of the new repository is the new browse view, where workflow implementation graphs (if provided) are graphically displayed. To make the repository more attractive to the users, I encourage all workflow developers to upload graph preview images of their workflow implementations. For details, please find the related documentation in the repository menu or directly at the following url (section 5.3.4).   Further improvements are: - links supported in workflow and implementation descriptions - duplication of implementations - user friendly metadata display - filter by domains - new search method - new hybrid view where a workflow and all its implementations are displayed in a single page - repo page is now accessible via the default http port to avoid firewall problems Kitti Varga 2011-12-16T11:17:37Z
